Sometimes life can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves. We become consumed by responsibilities, expectations, survival, and the roles we carry for others, until one day we begin asking ourselves, “Who am I beneath all of this?”

Part of my work in counselling is helping people reconnect with who they are beyond anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, addiction, emotional overwhelm, or simply years of surviving.

If you’re feeling lost, stuck, or unsure of yourself, but you’re not certain therapy is for you, I understand how difficult life can sometimes feel. I speak not only from professional training, but from genuine lived experience too.

How Much of Myself is Safe to Show?

After having a conversation around masking and ADHD, where masking is often described as the conscious or unconscious act of concealing behaviors, traits or characteristics that may be perceived as different, this really got me thinking. I began questioning whether masking is just part and parcel of the day-to-day lives of those with ADHD or perhaps it is woven into many people's daily experiences.
