Working Together
I understand beginning counselling can feel unfamiliar, so this page explains some important information about how we may work together, including confidentiality, session arrangements and professional boundaries.
Online and Telephone Counselling
Sessions are available to adults online or by telephone and follow the same ethical standards as face-to-face counselling.
Please ensure:
- You are in a private, quiet space
- Sessions are not recorded without written consent
- A contact number/location is available in case we become disconnected during a session
Sessions take place via Zoom or telephone, depending on your preference.
Session Details
- Session length: 50 minutes
- Fee: £50 per session
- Format: Online or telephone counselling
I offer counselling on an open-ended basis, meaning there is no fixed number of sessions. We will review our work together regularly to ensure the support remains helpful and aligned with your needs.
Payment & Cancellations
Payment is required 48 hours before your session via bank transfer.
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full.
If I ever need to cancel a session unexpectedly, a full refund or rescheduled appointment will be offered.
Confidentiality
Everything shared in counselling is treated confidentially.
The only exceptions are where:
- There is serious risk of harm to yourself or others
- Disclosure is required by law or safeguarding responsibilities
- Records are requested by a court of law
Where possible, I will always discuss this with you first.
Crisis Support
I am unable to provide emergency or crisis support.
If you are at immediate risk or need urgent help, please contact:
- NHS 111
- Samaritans: 116 123
- Emergency services: 999

Record Keeping & Data Protection
Brief factual notes are kept securely in encrypted digital format to support our work together.
Records are:
- Stored securely
- Retained for 6 years
- Never shared without consent unless legally required
You have the right to request access to your records under UK GDPR.
Contact Between Sessions
Our relationship is professional, and communication outside sessions is usually limited to appointments or practical arrangements.
I do not connect with clients via personal social media accounts.
Ethical Practice & Supervision
I work within the BACP Ethical Framework and regularly attend professional supervision to support safe, ethical and reflective practice.
