My Practice and Process

Hi, I’m Anita, founder of Becoming You Counselling.

I offer person-centred counselling for people who feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, stuck in survival mode, or exhausted from carrying everything alone.

My approach is warm, reflective and non-judgemental. Therapy with me is not about being told what to do — it’s about creating a safe space where you can slow down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin understanding yourself more deeply.

I am based in Bolton, working online and by telephone, offering support at your pace.

“Sometimes therapy begins with simply having a space where you can finally exhale.”

How I Work

I believe many people lose connection with themselves after years of anxiety, people-pleasing, masking, addiction, emotional neglect, difficult relationships, or simply surviving life.

Therapy can be a space to pause for the first time in a long while.

Together, we gently explore your thoughts, emotions, patterns and experiences — without judgement or pressure. You do not need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling.

My role is not to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you while you reconnect with your own voice, needs, identity and inner strength.

Areas I Commonly Support Clients With

• Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
• Addiction and understanding ourselves after survival
• Low self-worth and self-doubt
• People-pleasing and losing yourself in relationships
• Identity, purpose and feeling disconnected from yourself
• Neurodiversity and emotional understanding
• Relationship difficulties and communication challenges
• Life transitions, menopause and emotional change
• Feeling “stuck”, lost or unsure who you are anymore

I offer a free, no-obligation consultation where we can talk about what’s bringing you to counselling and whether I feel like the right fit for you.
